A Shepherd's Lullaby

My dad sometimes writes songs, and this year he wrote a Christmas song, called "A Shepherd's Lullaby." He wrote the lyrics, came up with the melody and even composed music for the different instruments. I really enjoy the lyrics of the song and what the message behind the song means. I am very grateful that my Dad has shared his talents with me and let me be part of recording it.

We recorded the vocals in my house, and the visual recording in the loft of our barn, although parts of this video were done in my front yard with our very own southdown babydoll sheep, Jack. I am doing the singing, and my Dad played the guitar. In the video, it looks like I am singing while doing the recording, but I was technically lip-syncing, so we overlapped the video with the better quality sound recording so it looks like I'm singing in the video. All of the editing for the final video looked really hard and complicated, but my dad knew what he was doing.

My dad and I both know what a hard time it has been for all of us in 2020, and we are hoping that this song will encourage people during these difficult days.
